Camping

A couple weeks ago we finally made it out for a camping trip with the DeLeons...well, almost:) We had a great afternoon, spending time at the river and going for a hike. After dinner we settled down at the campfire. It was all looking promising with all of the kids asleep in the tents, except Brooke was in my lap. After 11 pm when we decided to all go to bed, Brooke suddenly woke up and decided it was party time. Amazingly, Isaac stayed asleep throughout the entire circus until Brooke started hitting him over the head with her baby doll. Then, all of us were awake. It didn't appear that anyone was going to be getting any sleep any time soon, so we packed up the tent, gathered all of our stuff strewn about the campsite, and left as quickly as possible guided only by the light of our lantern. Then, we proceeded to drive 2 hours home...with Brooke awake in the backseat until we were about 15 min from home! The DeLeon's were quite surprised in the AM when they came out of their tent and there was no trace of us ever being there! We are (still) hoping for better luck the next time...

 We went on a hike & planned to carry Brooke in the backpack, but instead we carried the empty backpack b/c she wanted to hike almost the entire time. It was steep...and all the kids did great!
