Summer in March?!?!

Well, you would have thought we were on springbreak with sunny, hot days above 80 degrees in March...but we were actually just livin' it up in Naperville! Mom was recovering from back surgery and not able to come to WA to visit. So, while Mike was traveling for work, I braved the solo flight with the kids! All in all, they did great. Our flight there was right during Brooke's naptime, so she was fussy on and off the whole flight until she finally fell asleep 15 minutes prior to landing! On the way back, they both slept almost the whole time. Isaac was a champ traveler, as usual, and was really helpful. He either pulled his suitcase or pushed Brooke in her stroller through the airport.

We spent a ton of time outside taking advantage of the nice weather. The kids spend some time down by the lake and playing soccer and baseball,  Isaac supervised Papa planting a couple of trees, and we were even there to celebrate both Blu's and Nana's birthday!

Playing in the lake...in their unders?!?! Well, that's what happens when you have 2 almost-4-year-olds that want to get in the water and don't have bathing suits handy! Of course, Ryan was the instigator and Isaac happily followed.

Brooke had no problem getting dirty - sitting in the rocks (and almost in the water) was only the beginning of it. The whole weekend she was showing off her walking skills around the yard, almost always stopping for a break in the dirt. Her feet were filthy & she took joy in rubbing her muddy or peanut-butter covered fingers all over her hair...ugghhh! I don't think we have a little dainty princess on our hands!! :)

Isaac hasn't had a whole lot of interest in playing soccer until now, but really got into it with his cousins. Here is our best take of a "tough guy" photo. As you can see, we have some work to do. On the other hand, look at Tyler's gun show!!!

The cuz's... Tyler, Ryan, Isaac & Brooke

What a goof...Ryan upside down in a big box that kept the boys entertained for a couple of hours the night before. Who needs toys when you can tackle eachother in a giant box?

What a sweet girl. This is before she sat in the dirt!
