October randoms

I got the camera out a few times randomly over the past week or so for some updates on normal life around here. We also went to the doc this week for Brooke's 9 month well-baby check up and Brooke and Isaac both got their flu-shots. Brook continues to be tall at 29 3/8 in (97%) and her weight has increased to 20 lbs 8 oz (now 82%...up from 50-something%). Wow! No wonder she is outgrowing all of her clothes!

Brooke in the big bathtub for the 1st time! She loves to splash and kick her feet!

Brooke already likes to play basketball!
Check out the drool hanging from her chin...this is serious!

Isaac is really into playing with play-doh lately. I had to get him some new containers b/c his others had gotten pretty dried up...and you can tell from the pile-o-colors that they didn't stay separated very long!

Another goofy Isaac smile:)
Isaac is officially well into the "why" stage and has been really into counting and talking about letters over the past several weeks, which I'm sure is coming from pre-school. He can count to 10 (over and over again) by himself and needs just a little help to get up to 20. He can be found just randomly counting things like the cars he has lined up or pieces of food on his plate. He likes to spell his name and will look at a sign or letters in a book and tell us what letters are there. He also just started Spanish lessons at school (once a week), so we'll see if he starts bringing the new lingo home with him! It's fun to watch him learn and absorb so much...and be excited about it. It's crazy, though, how much stuff he comes home with...whether it be a painting, a worksheet that he colored, cut, and glued objects on, or a little craft....it's always something! His 1st fieldtrip is this week, which I will be going to "chaperone", so that should be fun...and interesting! He continues to be a great little helper - he still loves to help his Daddy out in the yard, helps me in the kitchen baking banana bread or clearing his plate after lunch, and usually he cleans up his toys without too much fuss. Sometimes he cleans up his toys (and puts them away in the proper spot) without being asked! He most definitely prefers things orderly! He is also starting to get opinion about what he wears and insists on doing most of it himself!

Just over the past week or so Brooke has started to get up on her hands and knees and rock a little bit. You can tell she is getting more anxious to move around and get to certain toys. However, she has only figured out how to scootch herself backwards so far!
