Thankfully, beginning on July 4th we have had GORGEOUS weather...but it's been hot...in the mid-70's or so (ha, ha - humor for the midwesterners)! We had a 4th of July parade around the neighborhood early in the afternoon. It was pretty funny - we had a Grand Marshall (blasting music from a convertible), followed by a bunch of bikers and walkers. Isaac had a great time & rode the whole time with his new little neighbor buddy, Blake.
Isaac was so proud of his decorated bike! Okay, so next year we will have use red, white & blue streamers, but we did the best with what we had on hand!
Isaac & Blake
We spent the rest of the day just playing in the yard, grilling out, and having a bonfire.
Peek-a-boo!
Brooke's 1st Smores! Yummm!
We very rarely have a few days in a row to just spend time as a family, so we tried to take advantage of it for the rest of the weekend. We made a trip to Carkeek park in Seattle for a picnic lunch and a little playtime.
The next day we took a ferry to Whidbey Island for lunch and a hike at Ebey's landing, and ending up in La Conner on the way back home where Isaac thoroughly enjoyed an ice cream cone!
Overlooking Puget Sound
Playing in the sprinklers...Isaac finally got his face wet jumping and riding his jeep through the sprinkler! Brooke wasn't really into it, probably b/c of the cold water. But, she enjoyed watching and lounging on her adirondack chair!
Daddy was having fun too!
And...surprise! Papa came for a layover this week and was able to spend the afternoon and night with us! So much fun!
