Montana

Nana & Papa to the rescue...to watch Isaac & Brooke so that Mike & I had a weekend SANS KIDS to Montana with some friends. We were so thankful to be able to get away for the weekend. To make matters even better, Brooke agreed to finally drink from a bottle in the couple days before we left! By the time we returned, she was a natural (thanks, Mom!). We weren't worried about Isaac, but weren't really expecting him to start waving and saying, "bye Mommy, bye Daddy" before we were even ready to leave! He was completely entertained and had a great time with Nans & Pops.
We made the beautiful ~7.5 hour drive to Montana & stayed with a couple in their home near Ronin, MT, at the south end of Flathead Lake, about 50 miles north of Missoula...aka: middle of no-where! But, it was awesome - we were there with Brittany & Kenny and some friends of theirs. The couple that owns the house made breakfast & dinner for us every day, so it was like staying in a B&B...no stress! We were able to enjoy the day without worrying about any logistics. Mike & I were there for 2 full days - the girls went horseback riding while the guys went mountain biking in the AM, and then we met up for some white-water rafting that afternoon. The next day we drove to Glacier National Park for a tretcherous drive along the cliff, and then a short hike. It was truely amazing...the park is way too huge to take in in just a few short hours. This is definitely somewhere we want to go back for a longer period of time for perhaps some more hiking and camping.

This is the view from the house we stayed at while sitting on the back patio. Frequently, deer come out of the woods and just graze in the yard...

This is part of the hike at Glacier...it's hard to tell from the picture, but the path is super narrow & then it drops straight down!
