SURPRISE!

For a while now, with Kevin & Allison, we have been planning a trip back to Naperville for a surprise party for my parents to celebrate their 60th birthday's and Mom's retirement from 20+ years of teaching. And...it was perfect! They were both so surprised by all of their friends and family at the party, and they had NO idea that we were in town! The look on their faces when they saw us is unforgetable! It was so much fun, and it was great to be able to spend the rest of the weekend with everyone without an agenda. The weather was weird - 60's and rainy one day, 90+ and sunny the next. That's the midwest for you! We went bowling one day (Isaac's 1st time), spent more time with family at my cousin's grad party, Mom & Dad took the whole gang out for a really nice dinner, and we spent Memorial Day outside in the sunshine. While Ryan & Tyler were getting run over by the giant beach ball, jumping off the dock into the lake, and splashing in the froggy pool, Isaac was dry (of course!) and obsessed with driving the motorized Jeep all around the yard.

So, Brooke won't drink from a bottle, but we have had mild success with milk in a sippy cup...and GREAT success with orange juice in a cup! She would not let go of the glass - she had a super tight grip and was lapping it up like a puppy! However, I'm not sure orange juice is the drink of choice for a 5 mo old...
