Happy Thanksgiving!

We have a lot to be thankful for this year...including a dishwasher that is now secure to the counter...which took a little longer than anticipated. As you can tell from the picture below, the "obstacles" in our way made preparing our Thanksgiving feast a bit more challenging! It was wonderful to have Nana & Papa here for a long Thanksgiving weekend (our 1st house guests!) and the Housers joined us for dinner & football...now a 6 year long tradition!

Isaac seemed to pick up a new vocabulary over the weekend - he learned about his "trailor hitch" when Papa taped his wagon to the back of his car...this kept him busy literally all day as he drove around in circles with his wagon following him! He also started saying things like "Ohhh, yes" (for instance, when we asked him if he liked an ornament as we were decorating the tree) or "yes, I did" in response to "did you help Daddy?" What is so funny is that he carefully articulates these sayings. Lately he is really enjoying letting Morris in & out of the back door to "hurry up", likes helping us feed Morris, and is really becoming Mr. Independent wanting to do things by himself.

We woke up on Thanksgiving AM to HUGE snowflakes! It was really beautiful, but didn't last long. By the afternoon the snow had melted and poor Frosty was laying on the ground!

We continued the tradition this year of searching out the perfect Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. We ended up at a U-cut-it place closer to our new house, which had quite a selection. However, after tromping through the mud & finding several trees that seemed to be "the one", we ended up with the 1st one we saw, which happened to be pre-cut a couple days earlier and only a few feet from our car! We had fun, none-the-less, and Isaac found a new friend, whom he enjoyed following around for much of the time we were out in the field...
